That is just one shelf in the craft room. I really need to channel the organizational gods to make my space look prettier. I don’t even want to show you my small craft table yet. It is literally holding a PILE of important papers, random office supplies, my crocheted cookie blanket, and I don’t even know what!!! Life has felt very cupcake-oriented the past few days. That can’t be bad, right? This weekend I am finishing The Secret Project, and then next week I am going to focus on getting my Etsy shop open and stuffed with goodies! I want to see a movie this weekend!! Have you seen one recently that you really liked? We were thinking about the Virginity Hit and the Joaquin Phoenix fake documentary.

I met up with the BFF for a late lunch, and we ended up looking at luggage in Macy’s in Union Square. The luggage is on the same floor as THE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS!!!!!!!!! Photo ops!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the trees was covered in butterflies, flowers, and birds, that were mounted on clips, so I started putting them in Manda’s hair! S’good, right? You can decorate your tree, and then use them as hair doodads for the rest of the year! I think I want to get a tree this year. I’ve never really felt like getting one before.

Seriously, how could I not get me one of these?!?! Seriously?

I sit on the floor to print out stuff!! Very professional office environment! 🙂 Today, I was printing out a letter to include in a press request I had for scarf samples. Fingers crossed! 🙂 I gotta put a hold on Today’s Workspace since I am knee-deep in my secret project… to be revealed in November! 🙂

I have a zillion things to SPRINKLE!! The thingies inside my sprinkle tray are these deliciously yummy candy cabs that I tried to make rings out of, but I seem to not have much luck with E6000!

Ever wonder what it would be like to hang out with me in Las Vegas at the Yummy You! Pooltradeshow booth? Check out the video! My BFF Manda accompanied me to Las Vegas in August to help me promote Yummy You! at the Pool Tradeshow. It was A LOT OF WORK, but a lot of fun. Here’s me and Manda in the booth! Later on, we all visited Audrey and Ali in their suite, in which they were showcasing all their clothing lines. I had me a vegan cupcake! Manda and I went out on our last night in Vegas. Her big brother happened to be in town, so we hung out with him and his buddies. Ladieez kept coming up and talking to me. I’m a ladykiller! Okay, I’m just kidding. I think they just thought I was a novelty. Anyway, I thought there were more funny photos, but…I can’t locate them, and it was already super difficult for me to get hold of Manda’s photoz for various technological reasons :P.

dress: I’m Your Present, star brooch: Pizzicato Kei So, I was trying to take a pic of my outfit in my bedroom mirror, but our mirror is really close to the bed, so I can’t get any distance from it. Time to think of alternate mirror solutions!!! 😛 On Saturday, Hairy and I went to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga to see Margaret Cho. The venue is really cool. I can see a lot of old people diggin’ on it to drink some wines, eat some foods, and listen to some classical musics. Too bad it was super dark by the time we got there. I bet it would have been really pretty.

So my dad got me an HD digital camcorder for my bday (yay!) and I have no idea how to use it (boo!) or edit video properly (double boo!), so I’m not there yet on video quality, but I think this video is a fun answer to “HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A CUPCAKE SCARF?” plus it shows a nice preview of the projects you can make from my book! Now I gotta actually go and build a more informative and detailed website for the book. Don’t forget I also have a project in Jenny Harada’s “ME MAKE MONSTER”. Or at least, I think I do. I haven’t seen a copy yet. I’m gonna go put that in my shopping cart, too!

A bunch of girls from L.A. who were involved with Sweet Streets 2 & 6%DOKIDOKI fashion show cruised up to S.F. for relaxationz, more 6%DOKIDOKI events, and the J-pop Summit Festival in Japantown. Above pics are me and iamchubbybunny, and I stole the following photos from her! I had brunch on Friday with her and Shrinkle and Kevin and Caro and Emi. Then they (sans Shrinkle and Kevin) came over to my casa to meet my pups! On Saturday, Hairy and I hit up the J-Pop Summit at Japantown. Bazaar Bizarre was there, and I got to visit with Heidi of MyPaperCrane which is always a treat! I also got to see her book!! I just put it in my shopping cart! It’s adorable. I don’t even have kids, and I want the book anyway! I also got this poster from her: click if you want to buy! and a suuuper cute, quilted zipper pouch. Then we popped over really quick to watch the POCKY EATING CONTEST!!!!! Contestants tried to eat 10 boxes of Pocky as fast as they could to win a year’s supply of Pocky! Here’s a one minute clip! The host was so funny. He reminded me of Ruby Rhod in the Fifth Element. Finally, we ran into the New People building, and I bought some sparkly hair bows from 6%DOKIDOKI, pondered buying more of their cute clothing but restrained myself, said hi to Shrinkle and iamchubbybunny and Bei, and then had to hop in the car for family fun times. Here’s me and Bei. I was very hot and sweaty by this point. Isn’t she so super cute?!!!? In house news: I really want to get me a papasan chair. I’ve wanted one for a long long time, but they kinda take up space, and I never had that space to spare before. I think we have that space now, but Hairy thinks papasan chairs are way lame!??!! What do you think???!? I think they are so super comfy! p.s. when I was at my family function, someone commented that she keeps up with me via Facebook/my blog entries. I think this is really funny because I started blogging like 10 years ago so that my pals who started moving away for college or jobs or whatever could keep up with my life, but nobody I actually knew in real life ever wanted to read my stupid blog! Hahaha. I’m glad it worked out, after a decade! 😛

Also, the fiber blog In Favor of Fuzz recently featured me, and while I was not familiar with the blog beforehand, I started reading previous posts, and it is really cool! Thanks, ladies!

Thought I would share my work from today before I have to stop showing you guys for a bit. I have to work on a top secret surprise project next, and the pieces are way too recognizable to show you peeks! I needed to use my mint green yarn for the cupcake bottoms, but I had half a mint-chip ice cream scoop still in the works, so I decided to just finish the ice cream scoop before using the yarn for the cupcakes! So those are two separate projects kinda smushed together. The cupcake scarf is for a video (or two) that I will be shooting in the next few days. Fun fun fun!

So I finally got my grubby hands on videos and photos from the Pooltradeshow…but first, I will show you what Hairy and I were up to in L.A. last weekend: Sweet Streets 2!! I was going to collab with Manda on a fashion project for the show, but due to complications, we unfortunately decided to pull out. I still wanted to see the show, though, because so many of my friends were involved and attending and I wanted to meet and see everybody! I get very awkward about using my camera and asking for photos with people, so I never have all the photos I wish that I had, but here is a little peek! Here’s me about to leave the motel for the show. We stayed at the Super 8 in Hollywood for the first time…… and although it is right next to a Walgreen’s (convenience!), I did feel like I might get a disease from the bed… I made the ice cream hair baubles the night before we left. I love how they turned out! I definitely plan to make them for my Etsy shop in different sizes and flavors after I finish this one big secret project I have lined up! Me and Yume Ninja! She made her most awesome Gothicorn outfit!!!! I didn’t get a shot of her shoes but WOW. She also had two amazing pieces in the show! So talented! Here’s me and San!! She’s an awesome illustrator from Atlanta and she was chosen to be a model in the 6%DOKIDOKI show. She’s so cute! I treated myself to some 6%DOKIDOKI goodies and ran into Vani, one of the shopgirls, and asked if I could take my picture with her. I like this photo cuz you can see Steph and Candyspooky making faces behind us! I had no idea they were there until I looked at the photos on my camera! Oooh I just stole this pic from Locketship! It’s the very first photo of all members of the Big Headed Asians club! Who has the biggest head!!?!? It was also really super duper hot inside, so Hairy and I stepped out after the show, wandered to find some bubble tea and deoderant (for stinky me), and after hanging outside the gallery for a little bit more, I shopped inside with Nellie, and then we went to eat food! I have a super big project to start crocheting, and I finished my planning sketches last night, but today I took a moment to make myself some cute hair doodads for my weekend in L.A.! More pics later! Oh, p.s.! I found out today that Spoiled Brat in the UK now carries Yummy You! 🙂 Also in the UK, I have a mention in October’s issue of “Let’s Knit!” If anyone over there wants to send me a copy, I will totally pay for it and the postage!

Hi Hi! OH gosh this move has been epic! I don’t know why it was so hard! The new house is still a giant mess that needs to be organized, but I finally unpacked all my yarn and can start working again! Also we have been in this house for a week, but tonight was the first night the internet actually worked! We had to call AT&T for a kabillion techs and it felt like my whole week was devoted to waiting for them. But it works now, so phew!!!! Yummy You is now available at a few sites!! After dinner on the last night we were in Vegas. Salsa, chips, margaritas, silliness! I am so happy to have shared this experience with my BFF. It was more hard work than I had prepared for. We were flying by the seats of our bloomers! Manda is the bestest for supporting me in every way. I have a lot of fun photos and video for you guys from the tradeshow! But we are actually moving out of our old place and into our new home TODAY. So that fun blog will have to wait! Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

It’s done! I’ve been wanting to get some fabric printed to make custom tote bags, but I never have time to finish the graphics. Since I wanted to bring something fun with me to the POOLTRADESHOW to promote Yummy You this coming week, I just bought a plain bag at Michael’s and some fabric paint and went to town! I’m really happy with how it turned out, considering it’s all free-handed. Painting was very relaxing! I had to mix my own blue, so I’m kinda bummed you can see some inconsistencies in color, but….for having worked on this while packing up the loft to move next Sunday….I’m pretty proud! I still want to install a zipper in it. Ideally a pocket, too, but who am I kidding?! We still need to pack and move more stuff to the new house tonight, and I still have to pack my suitcase! When does a gal get to paint her nails?! 😛 If any buyers read my blog and are going to the tradeshow to shop, my booth is #911. Easy to remember! 🙂 I’m not sure how much I’ll have a chance to blog while I’m away. I get REAAAAALLLY tired at stuff like this. I’m used to being home alone all day with the dogs, so being super social is really taxing! 😛 I might Twitter some pics here and there. We’ll see!!!

HOT!!!!!!! Shrinkle and myself, elated about aging.

I always feel like daylight hours are for e-mailing, errand-running, and phone-calling. Night time is when you make magic. So I am still up at 4am even though I have to wake up at 7am to meet the floor guys who’ll be sanding the floors at the new house. Not the smartest move, but when you gotta paint. You gotta paint! I’ll show you the finished project when it’s done! It’s nothing fancy. I’m not a painter nor much of a graphic artist, but I had this idea in my head, didn’t have enough time to print custom fabric, and just decided to go at it with fabric paint, a black Sharpie, and a prayer!

This is Lady GoodForYou and me. This is at a Denny’s in San Diego at about 2 or 3 in the morning. We know how to party. She made this animated gif. I take no responsibility for it! I DO take responsibility for this video I am about to post. I look like an ogre and K looks like a cute little woodland creature. I do not look good in head coverings, and I’m hiding two big bows and 3 ponytails under there! Lady GoodForYou and I had planned to wear matching Rilakkuma outfits for the one day we met up in San Diego (she lives in Hawaii). On that day, I felt kind of sick and thought I was going to barf. Then I put on my Rilakkuma matching shortyshorts and felt too gross and fat to wear shorts in public. I txtd her and told her that I would not be showing up 40% naked. Besides, it was real hot inside the convention center, and I couldn’t wear the hoodie all day anyway or else my armpits would explode. So we both ditched the shorts. Okay, enough talk!! Let’s get to the video!!!! As for the rest of the conference: I would say that I expected the worst and ended up having an okay time. YES, it is crowded in there. YES it does sometimes smell like farts in there. But Manda, Hairy and I had a good time tooling around and buying some crap, even though none of us read comics at all. We ran into Shrinkle and Kevin, and also Michelle and Yume Ninja and Chloe and probably a bunch of other peeps I can’t recall right now. Good times! We also went to Disneyland the next day, but it was really hot, and I didn’t feel much like taking photos or videos. I know there are some pics on Shrinkle’s camera of the partial meeting of the Big Headed Asians club, but we’ll have to wait for those to surface! Here’s one day at Comic Con through my eyes!
