Love, from Vegas.
| 5 Comments on Love, from Vegas. After dinner on the last night we were in Vegas. Salsa, chips, margaritas, silliness! I am so happy to have shared this experience with my BFF. It was more hard work than I had prepared for. We were flying by the seats of our bloomers! Manda is the bestest for supporting me in every way. I have a lot of fun photos and video for you guys from the tradeshow! But we are actually moving out of our old place and into our new home TODAY. So that fun blog will have to wait! Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

| 17 Comments on My hand-painted tote bag, off to Vegas! It’s done! I’ve been wanting to get some fabric printed to make custom tote bags, but I never have time to finish the graphics. Since I wanted to bring something fun with me to the POOLTRADESHOW to promote Yummy You this coming week, I just bought a plain bag at Michael’s and some fabric paint and went to town! I’m really happy with how it turned out, considering it’s all free-handed. Painting was very relaxing! I had to mix my own blue, so I’m kinda bummed you can see some inconsistencies in color, but….for having worked on this while packing up the loft to move next Sunday….I’m pretty proud! I still want to install a zipper in it. Ideally a pocket, too, but who am I kidding?! We still need to pack and move more stuff to the new house tonight, and I still have to pack my suitcase! When does a gal get to paint her nails?! 😛 If any buyers read my blog and are going to the tradeshow to shop, my booth is #911. Easy to remember! 🙂 I’m not sure how much I’ll have a chance to blog while I’m away. I get REAAAAALLLY tired at stuff like this. I’m used to being home alone all day with the dogs, so being super social is really taxing! 😛 I might Twitter some pics here and there. We’ll see!!!

| 9 Comments on What time of day are you most inspired?I always feel like daylight hours are for e-mailing, errand-running, and phone-calling. Night time is when you make magic. So I am still up at 4am even though I have to wake up at 7am to meet the floor guys who’ll be sanding the floors at the new house. Not the smartest move, but when you gotta paint. You gotta paint! I’ll show you the finished project when it’s done! It’s nothing fancy. I’m not a painter nor much of a graphic artist, but I had this idea in my head, didn’t have enough time to print custom fabric, and just decided to go at it with fabric paint, a black Sharpie, and a prayer!

| 24 Comments on Comic Con!! Bear Love!!This is Lady GoodForYou and me. This is at a Denny’s in San Diego at about 2 or 3 in the morning. We know how to party. She made this animated gif. I take no responsibility for it! I DO take responsibility for this video I am about to post. I look like an ogre and K looks like a cute little woodland creature. I do not look good in head coverings, and I’m hiding two big bows and 3 ponytails under there! Lady GoodForYou and I had planned to wear matching Rilakkuma outfits for the one day we met up in San Diego (she lives in Hawaii). On that day, I felt kind of sick and thought I was going to barf. Then I put on my Rilakkuma matching shortyshorts and felt too gross and fat to wear shorts in public. I txtd her and told her that I would not be showing up 40% naked. Besides, it was real hot inside the convention center, and I couldn’t wear the hoodie all day anyway or else my armpits would explode. So we both ditched the shorts. Okay, enough talk!! Let’s get to the video!!!! As for the rest of the conference: I would say that I expected the worst and ended up having an okay time. YES, it is crowded in there. YES it does sometimes smell like farts in there. But Manda, Hairy and I had a good time tooling around and buying some crap, even though none of us read comics at all. We ran into Shrinkle and Kevin, and also Michelle and Yume Ninja and Chloe and probably a bunch of other peeps I can’t recall right now. Good times! We also went to Disneyland the next day, but it was really hot, and I didn’t feel much like taking photos or videos. I know there are some pics on Shrinkle’s camera of the partial meeting of the Big Headed Asians club, but we’ll have to wait for those to surface! Here’s one day at Comic Con through my eyes!

| 14 Comments on Trapped in a Basement. Be Back in 5.I got a call from my BFF yesterday to keep her company during her all-nighter sewing costumes for the show she is designing. I packed up my yarn and my laptop and drove down to the Peninsula around 10pm. We got junk food and sat in a musty theater basement until 6 am. I worked on editing photos for the Etsy update, and then I helped her sew some buttons. I realized how much I hate sewing snaps onto things!! SHEESH!! When I decided I had to drive back home, she was still in the shop, sewing away! I hope she had a great opening night!!! Oh, in case you don’t follow me in Twitter, I got my roots done today, and since I didn’t have time to buy more pink hair dye, I just brought in the red that I had at home. It’s funny how different you feel with just a slight change in color. I already miss my pink head!

| 53 Comments on Renegade Craft Fair – San Francisco, 2010!I couldn’t wait to post my crappy video and photos from the craft fair :P. I don’t know why the video ended up so low in quality once uploaded to YouTube…I gotta try to figure that out for future posts. I created a new YouTube account for my Twinkie Chan videos: TwinkieChanTV. I had a plain old TwinkieChan account that I mostly used for Bibi videos (hehhe) but I will now post my people videos to the new account. Anyway, here is a video snippet from the show. Sorry again it’s so fuzzy. Also sorry again for the shaky, nausea-inducing, Blair Witch camera work. I get self-conscious about shooting video of my own booth, and I do it as quickly as possible! 😛 We went with a food cart – theme. I put most of the scarves in a chaffing tray and a lemon slice scarf in a pitcher :). The table display itself could use some fine-tuning, but overall I think we did a great job considering this was all put together in like 4 days after work! Here is a funny sketch I made of the cart before we built it! We shared our booth space with Elsie, Emma, and Red Velvet Art. They are cute as can be, and so super sweet. They are very special gals, and I was so excited to meet them even though I was cracked out on sleep deprivation and could not form language very well! You can see Elsie’s photos and thoughts on the fair here for DAY ONE and DAY TWO. And now…. my photos!! I made my banner out of felt and glue at 10am after an all-nighter. I’m shocked you can recognize the letters! Hehehe. We made this little chalkboard sign out of two pieces of wood, some hinges, and chalkboard paint! I was kinda like, “Ugh, I don’t have the brainpower to deal with this little project!” but Hairy insisted and it turned out super cute. Here’s a side view of the cart. As it turned out, the rear/tail-lights end of the cart was more visible in our final configuration. We had headlights in front! 😛 Here’s the other side. You can sorta see me and Elsie chatting inside! The front! And Elysse’s BUTT: Blurry pic of my cupcake tower of coffee cup cozies. As it turns out, the cupcake had angled surfaces and this was not a stable platform for the cozies, so they kept tumbling down… I recently became obsessed with shopping for vintage lucite beads, and I made some stretchy bracelets on Friday before the show. A lot of my favorites were purchased at the fair, but there are some left overs I think I may keep for myself! Heheh. I never made rings before, but I am kind of into it!!! Espesh if they look like jello! CutieDynamite came by for a visit and gave me a little piece of hair candy. It put it on right away!!! So sweet! Here’s a pic […]
