Out on the town (Pics)

So I don’t go out much these days, and even if I do, I don’t really drink. I’ll generally be okay with being the designated driver if Hairy wants to have a drink or beer or two. Me and alcohol have never been great friends. I didn’t even have a whole drink until I was about 27 (thanks, Eric Silver). I just always thought it tasted yucky and I needed nor wanted any part of it. I thought it was really silly in general. Nowadays, if there is dancing to be done, I will need a drink or two or I will hide in a corner. Somehow I feel like drinking is very draining on the body, so I need to be mentally prepped for a night out on the sauce.

It is Manda’s spring break right now, so, we stuffed our fat selves into Oliver’s little Firebird and headed to our beloved 1984 at the Cat Club. It is our go-to for cheezy, finger-snapping good times.

I was actually sitting next to Hairy but wasn’t able to get myself in the cramped photo!

This is Manda toasting to spring break:

Here’s us on drink #1:

Here’s Hairy and Oliver while I accost them with my camera.

I kinda can’t remember when in the evening this was taken.

I never know what kind of face to make in candid photos, because the person always takes so long to take the pic, and by the time the pic has been taken, I’ve already made like 5 funny faces and am spent!

Also, my hair was totally melting and it was making me sad. I require structural integrity in my ‘do to mantain a high level of self confidence.

It was quite dark in the club through the camera viewfinder, so all the pictures were sort of blindly taken and poorly auto-focused. For instance, I had no idea what Oliver and Paul were doing until I reviewed the photos today:

I think this is an especially manly photo, don’t you agree?

This is photo is only funny to me and Manda, probably:

I was holding the camera, thinking I was taking a photo of Manda and myself, but I didn’t realize I had the camera pointed the wrong way, and I took a picture of Paul instead on accident. It’s not very funny to re-tell it, but at that moment, I was like, OMG, I’m a huge moron, and maybe kinda drunk, and it was the funniest thing ever, and I could barely breathe.

There were some more, really unflattering, really sweaty photos, that will not see the light of the internet. I may not have a LOT of shame, but I do have just a little.

This morning, Manda woke up with a snot fountain in her nose, and I feel like I am getting a nice, itchy little cough. Bummer!!! Going out in public = exposure to GERMS!!!!!!!

1. Cute Cupcake Bow Purse by Em and Sprout at SickForCute.com

2. Macaron Framboise Ring at Bird on the Wire/Suicidal Shop

3. Reconstructed Vintage Tulip Dress by Postlapsaria. It’s sold already, but you can still check out her other goodies.

4. MP3 Upholstered Head Board from Target.com. I am shopping for a bedframe or headboard, and I thought this was so cute and funny!

5. This is just an adorable cake made by Heidi of MyPaperCrane.com. I love it!

6. Pink Snake Dress by NewYorkCouture on Etsy. Um, I love this. I can’t believe I had enough self control to not buy this. It is kind of inspiring to make a Bjork swan dress of my own to prance around in!

7. I kind of want this Rainbow SnoCone Necklace by IndyGrrrlProductions on Etsy super badly. I’m also astounded I had the self control to abstain from purchasing!

8. Um, okay, my dirty secret right now is that I bought a BUNCH of these little Marshmallow dolls from scrumptiousdelight on Etsy. I know. Most frivolous purchase ever, right?! UGH!!! But they are so cute. And I want to turn my bedroom eventually into a girltastic candy colored paradise, and I imagined these babies on my princess-style make-up table, encouraging me to be cute and plump and pink!!!

Now I am going to take a quick break from commission work to make something new and cute for the next Boutique Angels eBay charity auctions! I hope it turns out the way I want!!!! Fingers crossed. Pictures soon.

Referrer Stats!

Do you guys ever check your referral stats on Flickr? I like to check out what’s there from time to time. On google image search I got a lot of searches for my tattoos yesterday! Random!

But on google itself, check out what someone searched for. Click on the image to see all sizes/bigger sizes.

I think this is so cute because I’m a complete idiot when it comes to makeup. I don’t really know how to do anything fancy. If I try to use colorful eyeshadow or eyeliner, I feel like a clown or a prostitute (one time I came back from a photoshoot and my cousin said I looked like a ‘busted geisha’), so I pretty much have the same look every darn day. I have an automatic morning routine, and I always buy the same products over and over again. But just In case anyone was interested, here are some of my go-to products:

Red Tee 1(taken for ShanaLogic.com)

(I picked a nice and happy photo for y’all here!)

Eye Liner: Revlon ColorStay in the black. My eyes are really watery or oily, and most eyeliners smudge and rub right off me. This one has some good staying power, but it’s self-sharpening so there’s never a sharp tip. I also use this on my eyebrows and carefully smudge with my fingers, because I am LAZY and don’t bother to use a separate special brow pencil.

Eye shadow: CoverGirl, in whatever the sparkly black is. It’s not the most pigmented stuff ever, but I like that you can stick the sponge applicator in the case, and that I can just pick it up from Walgreen’s or Safeway whenever I want. (See, nobody worth their makeup-salt is going to use eyeshadow sponge applicators!!! I do have brushes, but I never use them. I’m too LAZY. The sponge applicator is right in there! I do buy extra applicators from CoverGirl and replace it regularly so I don’t get any STYES or anything.)

Blush: Bourjois in Rose D’or. It smells good, too! The downside is I ALWAYS break the hinges on the case, and I ALWAYS just slap a piece of First Aid tape on there and call it a day. It works!

Powder: I use the pressed powder compact from Shiseido. I haven’t experimented very much with powders or foundations. This is pretty much what my mother first got me years and years ago and I just stuck with it! I have fairly oily skin, so I don’t want to venture so much into liquid foundations.

Lip Gloss: I do not like lipstick. I am a lipgloss girl. My current fave is Bourjois also, in Framboise Magnific #23. Sometimes I switch it up with Shiseido Shimmering Lipstick in SL 14. It has sparkles! And I love the color. However, because of the sparkles, it can feel a little funky on your lips, so I don’t use it a lot except for taking photos or going out.

That’s pretty much it. Don’t forget to use a moisturizer with sunscreen!!! I think that’s the one piece of makeup/skincare advice I can give with confidence! (I’m using one by JUICE right now. It’s not a super high SPF, but I’m not outside very much, if at all!)

Small Etsy Update

I just put 3 styles of sugar cookie brooches in my Etsy shop. Check ’em out! I will also be adding two scarves there, hopefully over the weekend.

I’m also working hard to get an eBay auction up by Monday with never-seen-before themed goodies! Exciting!

Also, while in Whole Foods, I figured out how to have an “Easter” item without it being a Peep or chocolate bunny or easter egg (all of which I really don’t want to use as inspiration for items). I’m SUPER DUPER EXCITED to make this new item. It will have great colors. But if you have other Easter favorites that are not the aforementioned, I’m happy to hear! 🙂
