1st Bento Buddies pattern release: Hot Dog Octopus!

This little hot dog octopus (or tako wiener) crochet pattern is now available in my Etsy shop! They are really cute and little and stand about 2.25 inches tall.

I do plan to release collections of Bento Buddies patterns for people who want to buy them more in bulk, but I’m still undecided as to whether I will release one big “booklet” of EVERYTHING, or split them up into maybe 2 or 3 groups, like “meat/proteins,” “fruits/veggies” or “rice ball extravaganza.” I’m not sure yet : X. Cuz, like, if you put hamburgers in the “meat/proteins,” then do you put the french fries in the “fruits/veggies”? I think people would be mad about splitting them up like that!

If you have any feedback or wants/wishes, I am so open to hearing them!

Hi Twinkie, I love your Hot Dog Octopus <3 I think the booklet idea sounds good too! But if you want people to have separate mini pattern booklets thats ok too! I don't think anyone would be mad at you. I think a lot of us have been waiting for crochet bento cuties in our lives : ) P.S. I loved your Sugar on top booklet <3 was super adorable!!!

Thank you!! AHHH I have a lot of work to do!!! hehe

  • My vote is for one large ebook, but I understand people who would want seperate booklets. But my reasoning is it’s all n one place and I can pick and choose. Since there are patterns I wants from each “category” if you know what I mean.

Yep, totally feel you! From my experience with selling my books, I do know that some people just one ONE pattern and don’t want to pay for 20 patterns (even though books are relatively good deals compared to buying 20 separate patterns). It seems like I should offer all the patterns individually, and then one big e-book. Do you buy many photo-filled ebooks? I just imagine they are HUUUUUUUUGE pdf’s. I wonder if there is a secret to compressing them really well!

      • I’m not sure myself, most ebooks I have are fairly short. The biggest is like… 60 recipes? So only like 60 pages, one photo per page. Not really sure on the compression issue.

But makes sense to release them individually then one large ebook option. I just know I’ll want all of them or at least most of them, hehe!

I have both of your books. OBSESSED!

Hi Twinkie. I love your bento boxes! They make me giggle 🙂
I think one ebook for everything. Because I think having them all together gives lots of crochet options and ideas. You think you just want to make a burger with fries but when you see how dang cute the other foods are, then you may “need” to try out other patterns and combos of food.

I would love to see all the different patterns together as a mini-book of Bento buddies! They are so adorable! If printing wasn’t an issue, I see these as a spiral notebook of “recipes”. Fries would be a side. 😉

Unfortch, I don’t think I have it in my budget to invest in a printed book at the moment, but thank you for all your feedback!
