Valen-Tiny Etsy Update

Hey hey hey!

So we managed to squeak in a tiny Valentine’s Day update in the Etsy shop. I was working on a new item last night, but I didn’t finish the pattern. Hopefully I can add that in the next few days. Before the end of the week, I also need to make my mom a birthday present, submit some work for a sweets-themed art show at Hairy’s gallery by Wednesday, and ideally, make a cupcake scarf for a buddy visiting on Friday, because we’re supposed to do an art trade, and it’s taken us both eons to finish! 😛

Please enjoy the lil bit of Valentine goodness! Pieces are in limited quantities, so please act fast if you’re interested :). I’ll let you guys know if I manage to sneak any new items in! Thanks for your patience.  I know my shop is kind of bare and weird, but I am hoping my Spring will be a little less psychotic!

FYI, that’s my new duvet cover and pillow shams from PBTeen. Cute, but not very soft :(. Any tips? Just keep washing it for 2 years?

Usually something like Dish washing soaps ( I use an organic free and clear from Costco) and baking soda thrown in with your laundry detergents, I use both, will remove starches from your cottons pretty easily I’ve found. Also the type of water you have can make it harder to get linens softer faster

  • Wash your new sheets in salt! Add salt to the rinse cycle and it usually softens it up. I soak my vintage cottons in salty or fabric softener water overnight

Ooh, there’s a really good way to make fabric softer that I found on Pinterest! Like Capricia said, salt is the key! Brine your sheets for about 2-3 days and then wash with a dash of detergent.

just try some old fashioned liquid fabric softener for the washing machine.
