Renegade Craft Fair San Francisco – Recap!

Thank you so much to everybody who came to visit my booth at Renegade Craft Fair! I super appreciate all the support, and it was the first time in a long time that I actually sold out of certain items. Woo hoo! Here are some photos and one (crappy, as usual!) video, so you guys can check it out.

I had a lot of fun building a gingerbread house-themed booth with my mom. I designed and built the PVC structure, my mom sewed the felt covers, she and I both painted and glittered the styrofoam candies, and Hairy drilled holes into the tables to mount my canopies, and he also wrapped the PVC in candy cane ribbon.

You can click on most of the photos to see them bigger if you like!

I’m really lame and I wanted my nails to match my gumdrops!

I was really into making packaging for my popcorn garlands. While I love the idea of all my products having their own cute little packaging, I also feel like it’s really wasteful, so I don’t make a habit of it!

Here’s and Miss Danielle!

The last 3 photos were taken by Sporkii/PizzicatoKei/Marissa. Β She is not only one of my crochet elves, but also an amazing artist, and I like to link her shop full of cute crafts cuz I think it’s amazing. She helped me vend at the fair on Saturday.

Okay, get ready for the greatest craft fair photo of all time.

Dress: I’m Your Present, Boots: Modcloth, Plastic bag blanket: Twinkie Chan, Sleep deprivation: Renegade Craft Fair

I had 3 hrs of sleep on Thursday night, no sleep at all on Friday night, vended all day Saturday, napped for 4 hours on Saturday night, vended all day Sunday. I thought I was going to have a heart attack on Saturday, but I’m still alive right now, so it’s all good!

If you and I took a photo together at the fair, and you’d like me to include it in this post, leave a link to it in a comment, or email me!

Also, I’m not working on updating my Etsy shop with Renegade leftovers. According to the USPS, I can still mail domestic orders on Friday via Priority Mail to arrive by Christmas, but I wouldn’t push it. I’ll try to have the update up tonight or tomorrow morning and then will ask you to make your orders by Thursday around 2pm PST so I can ship it all via Priority by Thursday :).

OH MY GOODNESS CHRISTMAS HEAVEN!!! ;_; Your booth is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! The gumdrops were a stroke of sheer genius! <3 <3 <3 And the picture of you and Danielle is so sweet πŸ˜€

    • TwinkieChan

      says:

You can actually buy pre-made fake gumdrops on line from a prop store! I was tempted, in order to save time….but they had sold out!!! It was fun making, though, and LOTS cheaper!

    says:

Awesome. I love the bears, Xmas pudding, and all of the mints.
Fun booth. What do you do with them btw. Reuse the scraps?

    • TwinkieChan

      says:

I posted them to my Etsy shop for sale!

      • Crystal

        says:

Sorry I meant the booth itself. I used to be coiner of a local prop company here in Vegas. So pathetically props and booth building interest me as much as all my art/craft interests. To bad punctuation isn’t an art πŸ™‚

          says:

Oh! Hehe. No, I hold onto them and keep them folded up in the garage in case I want to use them again in another show :). i Feel you. When I go to craft shows, I’m half-looking at the items, and half-looking at booth layouts that I like!

Love the gummi bears! They’re amazing. I want to squish their little crocheted bodies! πŸ™‚ Did you make any frowny face gingerpeeps with a missing arm? I have loved and lost my little dude so many times.. luckily so far he has found his way back to me, but I almost think I need a backup.

    • TwinkieChan

      says:

I didn’t make any frowny faces this year. Actually, it’s kind of a miracle we had any on the table at all…. one my crochet elves got in a car accident : / and she was on ginger duty.

I think the best photo is the one of you sleeping under the table πŸ™‚ Great idea by the way… So incognito haha I love your booth display and I’m glad to hear you had a great sales weekend.

P.S. I would’ve painted my nails to match also πŸ˜›

    • TwinkieChan

      says:

I think my only real concern about sleeping under the table is whether people shopping would accidentally kick me from the outside! Hehehe

  • Sami

    says:

But I really enjoyed it. πŸ™‚ I love my little cotton candy guy, and I think my friend is going to absolutely love hers too! Also, that last photo is the best.

    • TwinkieChan

Omg Twinkie, the “greatest craft fair photo of all time” IS AWESOME!!! I love your gum drop nails! πŸ™‚ YOUR BOOTH IS SO LEGIT!! AWESOME!! I’m mad I missed out on those peppermint candy hairclips! πŸ™ You should turn those cute little cotton candy ornaments into hair clips, THEY ARE SOOO STINKIN CUTE!

    • TwinkieChan

      says:

I was going to offer an option for the cotton candies to be hair clips, but I thought they were a little big/unwieldy for that!! πŸ˜›

  • Nicole

    says:

The booth looks amazing and looking at these pictures makes me want to buy everything!! πŸ˜€

  • Jessica

    says:

Wow love the popcorn garland! All the stuff looks gorgeous!
