My First Weave

I still haven’t uploaded photos from the JapanLA party last weekend. I’ll try to get those up soon! I’m still really bad at taking photos at events, though. I feel dumb going “Let’s take a picture! Let’s take a picture!” But then I feel even lamer when I come home with no photos :/

Anyhoo, today Cassie Wanda came over and put in some hair extensions! We ate Nabisco snacks, watched Friends, and gabbed. Good day!

In case anyone was wondering/curious, she used micro links to put the hair in. It’s real hair so I can curl it and shizz. I better learn how to curl my hair right… I will keep you posted on my continued adventures with fake hair.

I’m actually flying back to LA tomorrow for a biz meeting, but just in and out for the day!

super cuuuuute. are you like me and strangely want long hair in the summer and short in the winter?

    • There’s no rhyme or rhythm. I always miss my crazy bob and always thought I’d cut it short for summer :). We’ll see. It’s still June!

Long hair suits you lady! and it looks really cute 🙂
I bought some fake hair a while back too..except its clip in extensions, Im interested in the method you used – do the rings just crimp onto your natural hair, in each little section? how long do they hold for..?
    xx

    • Yes, the are these beads that crimp the fake hair to your real hair. I think they are supposed to last a few months if you take care of them right!

I am glad you like the book and would so love if you did a write up! Link me when you do! 🙂

Just when I thought you couldn’t be cuter… I’m interested to hear about the upkeep – I took both my weaves out after about 2 weeks but I’m terrible at being a girl.

    • UH one of them fell/ripped out this morning. I feel very itchy! Not sure how long I can do it!!

ha- i was trying to be “cool” and put link when i meant like!!

  • It looks really cute! Definitely keep us posted on the upkeep- I’ve been wanting to try little micro linkie extensions for a while, you know, to change it up a bit 🙂 My hair is really fine and flat, and tends to just hang there all stringy-like when it’s long, so I always stick with short ‘dos. I LOVE short hair, but every once in a while I get the urge for a ponytail! Out of curiosity (and only if you don’t mind my asking, of course), how much was it to get them “installed”?

    • I’m really lucky. I only paid for hair this time around :). But if you ask around and they give you an hourly rate, to give you an estimate, mine took about 4 hours to get in, no including the time we took for her to dye the hair at my house. My only beef so far is that my natural hair is really layered and razored, so I’m always afraid the links will show, espesh cuz the links are not pink 😛

Looks great! Don’t you miss your old hair?

    • All the time! I thought I was going to get it cut short again for the summer, but then the opportunity arose to get the extensions installed for a really good price, so I jumped on it since it may never happen again 🙂

      • Leinz

        says:

Haha but it looks great! Maybe now you can designs some hair accessories for your long hair? ^^

Super cutee…Are you ever gonna put it in a pony tail? That would be even cuter, it doesn’t matter! Miss Twinks u can wear anything!! :3

    • Pony tail is hard. IT’s super easy to see the beads/bonds at the back of my head!

heyy i love your weave! very nice! i was wondering on a compleatly different note though if it would be at all possible for you to give me some helpfull advice on how to start my own little business and also how to set about earning money doing the things i love??(im an artist/ designer) xx thanks very much email reply is ok too xxxx

    • Hi! That’s a really big/broad question! Hehehhe do u have specific questions?

      • emiekitty

        says:

yeah it may seem quite intruding but how did you start up ur business? how do u manage to keep up to bills!! i want to do it so bad but worried i would never make enough money and only have myself to blame lol xx

Girl, you look crazy cute with those curls! I had absolutely no idea there was even a proper way of curling it, but I guess that’s why I use the foam curlers, so I don’t burn myself constantly. XD

I was wondering, and forgive me if you’ve answered this before, but are you ever going to print more of your shirts? They are super adorable!

One last note (long comment is long) but I got your book off amazon and wow! For once I actually understand patterns, which before confused me endlessly. I can’t wait to start my first project and hope it’s okay if I write up a review and little info bit about you on my blog! Do let me know. 🙂

    • oh p.s. re: shirts. I don’t like to have tshirt stock taking up room in my house, and I never know how much to print, and then I have leftovers for ever. So any shirts I do in the future will most likely be via Yummy You, which I am still very hard at work getting going! 🙂

      • zannid

        says:

Okie dokie! I’ll keep an eye out in case you decide to do some, then. I’m actually really excited about your Yummy You line. If it means more people with ice cream scoops on their head, I am all for it. I’m holding out for a mint chocolate chip one myself. 😉

And I’m guessing by the “p.s” your reply to my article question got cut out when you edited. x.x
