Dublin Part 3: Hairy Drives on the Wrong Side of the Road.

I’ll be honest. When Hairy said he wanted to take a side trip to Dublin during our London trip, I was like, “…..WHY!?”

He said, “Because it’s beautiful!”

Then, when we got to Dublin, and it looked like a lot of other European cities (like Copenhagen), I was bummed. I’d been brought to Ireland under false pretenses! Where was all the greenery? Where was the nature? Where were the sweeping Emerald hills? I complained about this a lot the first day, and then on the second day, Hairy rented a car so we could drive an hour of town to check out Wicklow, which was supposed to be really beautiful. Unfortch, we got the car around 3-4pm, so by the time we got to the outskirts of Wicklow, it was already getting dark, but at least we got out of the city a little bit, saw the ocean and some sheep, drove into some dirt piles, and drove on the wrong side of the road for the first time.

We had also seen these giant prehistoric bugs emerge out of a hole in the soil, and I thought I’d gotten video of me freaking out about it, but I guess in my terror, I hadn’t really been recording. Oh wellz! Here’s some video of Dublin via car, as well as documentation of Hairy’s driving escapades.

Hairy has such driving talent! I know I would have a hard time being on the opposite side of the road!
It looks like you guys had such fun! I love your pictures!

    • IT was actually really really really scary. I imagine it’s like a mom riding in a car with her 16 year old son driving.

Really?! Hardly any greenery?! Surprisingly, I’ve not been to Dublin yet even though it’s a short plane ride… But pictures I’ve seen and movies, always show lush hills and wide open spaces! I guess you just have to know where to go…?

    Pictures are cute!

Ewwww, giant prehistoric bug, whaaaat! Nasty, I am scared of bugs!

Hmmmm I can’t see any video of the driving… Not sure if it’s just on my end…

      “Oh shiiiiit!” 😛

The roads are so curvy and branch off, it’s so confusing and sometimes, there’s two sets of traffic lights that it’s like, which do I look at!

I love your pictures! I feel like I was there…in a good way! Not a “I’m getting car sick” kind of way. Yay! Glad you had a good time.

    • HAhaha that’s good! I always think my videos make people car sick 😛

I love these pics, those first two action shots are awesome!

    • It’s much easier to get a good jumping shot when nobody is around looking.

We were a bit more shy trying to get an awesome Stonehenge jumping pic!

  • You guys are so cute! I’m glad you had an awesome time. I’ve been to Ireland but was on the other side by Galway. there was greenery everywhere there and some very scary looking goats.

    • I wanna see scary goats and greenery!

You should have gone to Galway! I may be biased as it’s where I’m from, but imo it’s much, much nicer than Dublin. It is quite small though, more of a town than a city.
