When we went to William Sonoma to pick up Dutch Baby mix for my family’s white elephant gift exchange, Hairy also picked up a bag of this Dutch Country Soft Pretzel Mix. There’s also a gluten-free version.
They were really PUFFY!!! And a little bit sweet, but very very tasty. Thumbs up, A+!
In less edible news, I had to make some more pink pastry weepuls, so I decided to also finally try to put “sprinkles” on some sunglasses!! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long while but never got around to it. I have been bored of my regular glasses for a while, and thought I might experiment with beads. Since I have a little photoshoot coming up in L.A. next week, I decided to have a go at the glasses. I wish I could find beads that really actually super duper looked like sprinkles (more like opaque, rainbow bugle beads), but I haven’t had much luck yet!
But I think that for the shoot, they will be ok, if we decide to use them!
I’ve been thinking of some fun little things to try out for Valentine’s Day. I probably won’t have a big V-Day update on Etsy because I have so much side-stuff going on (like the sales people at my publisher ordered a lot of scarves!), but I hope to squeak out a heart or two!
I have been feeling like a huge fatty lately and Hairy and I finally got around to going to the exercise room in our building the other night….and the treadmill is BROKEN!! IS IT A SIGN!!?!? No, probably not. It was just kinda funny. Funny in the “oh that really sucks!” way….
Anyhoozits, I am off to start a bacon and eggs scarf!
The sprinkle glasses are cute! The only other way I could think of to fake sprinkles is to use clay…I hand sculpted some sprinkles from clay for my mini donut hair clips, but it was time consuming. The beads still look sprinkly for now though!
ooooh clay is a good idea……….would be an interesting experiment!
I looooooooooove soft pretzels. Now I’m craving one! Rawr!
its cool that this company also sells ready-baked frozen ones!
((((((WOWZERS)))))))))) LOVE THE GLASSES!
hee hee yay! ๐
ooo those are really cute!
thanks!!! i’m not sure how well all the beads will old onto the frames, so i will probably play with this pair for a while before attempting any more!
Aaaah!! Those glasses are amazing!!! Xx
aw thank you!!! ๐
Have you tried real sprinkles? I can’t imagine they’d deterioate very much, you could always varnish them?
hmmm this is an interesting pointโฆespecially if you can paint resin or something over all of them!
Oh they are adorable! These remind me of some super cute glasses I saw on flickr.

oh I saw those, too! i think it’s one of those “great minds” things.
I think using the real sprinkles with resin is a great idea, love the way yours turned out though! Mustard with pretzels, yum-o!
Did you try places that supply embroiderers and cross stitchers ?
I’m not sure they would be big enough.
Very cute! You are my idol. I wish I could have half the success with my crafts that you do with yours. Here’s to good luck in the new year!
I LOOOOOOOVE those glasses I would so buy some sunglasses like that. I’m excited to see your V.day stuff!!
I love those glasses! I think the beads look sprinkly and it’s probably a nice change from your normal glasses ๐
Those glasses are very very veryyyy cute. I hope you decide to use them. ๐
Hey Twinkie, quick question. I’ve seen you wear this bright blue nail polish and was wondering what kind/brand it was. I absolutely love it! ๐
