Superduper Last-minute HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY!!!!

EDIT!!!!!! THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED!!!!!!!! I WILL NO LONGER APPROVE COMMENTS FOR THIS ENTRY. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING! 🙂 🙂

Hey folks,
I’ve always wanted to do a giveaway, but I’ve been so crazy busy that I never have anything left to giveaway!
I took the opportunity after BazaarBizarre to put together a lil sumthinsumthin for all of you who have supported me and read my blog!

This giveaway package includes red and white striped peppermint wristwarmers/fingerless gloves, a red and white striped peppermint candy-heart necklace, and a red and wdhite swirled lollipop brooch.

TO ENTER:

Just leave a comment on my blog, telling me what your most favorite holiday treat is! (and make sure to enter your email address in the email address field so I know how to contact you!)

DEADLINE:

This is super quick! I will choose a winner with a random-number-generator on Monday, December 21st, at noon, PST. This way, I can hopefully have time to contact the winner, and have the winner send me his/her mailing address, and get the package out before the post office closes on the same day. For people in the U.S., the package should arrive before Xmas (according to the USPS….). Sorry to my international readers! I just didn’t get my act together in time! I will obviously still send the package to an international winner, but the package will probably definitely not arrive in time for Xmas.

Okay, this is my first giveaway at my own blog, so if I left anything out or messed something up…please let me know! 😛

xoxo

  • It’s SO difficult to say what my favourite holiday treat is… But if I had to choose one thing, it would be eating chocolate in bed with my awesome girlfriend and watching DVDs whilst not having to be at work. And that definitely counts as one thing!

  • Polly

    says:

For eating, my favourite holiday treat is probably marzipan fruits, as I adore marzipan and they have the added benefit of looking like tiny fruits so are therefore cute. I like making them too, they are really easy but people always seem so impressed! And for an experience, my favourite holiday treat is having a whole day where I can lounge around in my pyjamas eating chocolate with my younger siblings and no one can tell me off for being lazy because it’s Christmas! x

    • Danette

      says:

I love love love everything Marzipan too!!!! could you give me the recipe to make it from scratch? I thought I was the only one that loved Marzipan as much as I do! lol! i also love anything almond tasting esp with raspberries! Happy Holidays!

      • Polly

        says:

To be honest I usually just mould the fruits from ready made marzipan I buy in a packet, because making it from scratch ends up costing about 5 times as much as buying it readymade! But one of my friends made me this really cool cake for my birthday which was chocolate with homemade marzipan, and he basically used this recipe without the lemon juice http://thefoody.com/baking/marzipan.html Apparently it is really easy. I am totally obsessed with marzipan to eat, the smell, anything almondy! I even had a perfume which smelt like marzipan at one point, and Burt’s Bees do this great marzipan scented handcream called Almond Milk Hand Creme. Sorry this is a really long comment, but I am excited that you love marzipan too, normally people think I am weird for my obsession with it! Oh and Merry Christmas!

        • Danette

          says:

Ha!!!! I am totally obsessed with all almondy smelling and tasting too!!!! I’ll have to get that Burt’s Bees hand cream! 2 yrs ago at Ulta for Christmas they added Almond to their Body lotion/bath gel/hand lotion and I was in heaven everytime I took a shower!!! It smelled exactly like Marzipan! I so wish I would have bought a case cuz I can’t find it anymore : (
OOh and I love the Pignoli nut Italian cookies! Have you ever had them? Its perfeclty crunch on the outside and soft almond flavored cookie on inside with Pine nuts on top! And Rainbow Cookies! Ok now I’m hungry!! Good to find someone else whose as Marzipan/almond obsessed as I am!

  • Sarah

    says:

My favourite holiday treat is definitely the leftover turkey sandwich. My mum has perfected the art of it – two thick slices of white bread, with butter, a thin layer of good quality mayonnaise, rough cut tukey (especially any that still has the skin, mm!) with a pass of salt, then stuffing, cranberry sauce and thin slivers of pickled onion. SO. GOOD.

  • Erin

    says:

Favoriate holiday treat: Eggnog. I know it’s not visually stunning, so probably moot for your purposes, but I love the spices and extreme creaminess.

    • aw, hehe, i didn’t have any purposes, i.e. i wasn’t looking for project inspiration. i really was just curious what everyone looked forward to eating/drinking! 🙂

  • piper

    says:

I love spritz, I think they are called. They are a super, super simple vanilla cookie. There is nothing really special about them but they are pure heaven.

  • valerie

    says:

I don’t know what they are called but they are marshmallows dipped in carmel then in rice crispies. I LOVE them so much that I start dreaming about them in novemer 🙂

  • Kcatz

    says:

My favorite holiday treats are red velvet cupcake & peppermint mocha with mini marshmallows on top *yumm* Wearing your gingerbread scarf completes the occasion without adding calories 😉

I’m so happy I got both your cupcakes & gingerbread scarves, right on time for my trip to Japan. I’m gonna rock the ‘Twinkawaiiness!’ I’m just missing the candycane wrist warmer. Your handcraft is magnificent & truly made with LOVE…
    XOXO, Kiki 😀

    • aw thanks, kiki!

i too love a peppermint mocha!!!

  • Amanda

    says:

Favorite holiday treat? Has to be Coconut Rumballs. OMG. I made up a recipe years ago and we make them a month before Christmas. Let them marinate in the fridge during that time and they get super potent but they have a great flavor (not like normal rumballs)

  • CANDY CANES!!!
Oh my. and if theyre the fruity flavored ones..yumm delishh. theyre so simple yet so good and festive.
    Thanks Twinkie.

  • Hi favourite holiday treat is definitely sitting at home with my boyfriend enjoying a hot chocolate with cream and marshallows in my awesome hello kitty mug!! Its my fav time of the year!!

    Corrinne

  • Melissa

    says:

You know, I know us savory enthusiasts are in the minority, but I have to agree with the leftover sandwich, though on Christmas, it’s all about grilled ham and brie on thick wheat, with brown seeded mustard, caramelized onions and pears, and cranberry sauce.

    Oh yeah!

    • i am going to have to go with your ham over the leftover turkey!

  • Zannid

    says:

My favorite holiday treat would have to be pumpkin rolls. My aunt used to make them every year for Thanksgiving and ever since I’ve loved them. Really anything pumpkin makes me happy though. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, mmmm pumpkin.

Other than that, I love peppermint and caramel flavored items, but I eat those all year round. 🙂

  • Jessica

    says:

My favorite holiday treat is not technically a holiday treat, but my mom only ever makes it at the holidays. Since she grew up in Thailand she makes deep fried bananas….they are dipped in sweetened condensed milk and rolled in coconut shavings, then fried. I like to dip them in chocolate : )

  • piper....

    says:

gingerbread house! my mom always goes to target and buys the kit an spends hours making it, but i end up eating it anyway

  • Nicole Fischer

    says:

My mom makes the most delicious Russian Teacakes every year. I just love those!! It’s the only time she makes them in the year, so I know I’ll be waiting for awhile before I get them again!!

  • Corvus

    says:

I’m all about the sugar cookies. I like to make my own frosting to decorate them.

  • Shelbi

    says:

Ohhh, how cute! I’d have to say that my favorite treat is chocolate pie. It’s not very Christmas-y, but my birthday is on the 18th, a week before Christmas, and my mom always makes it for me instead of a cake. So I always associate it with Christmas time. 🙂

  • Mary

    says:

My favourite holiday treat is a nice cup of Gustafson’s eggnog with a plate of sour cream cookies covered in royal icing.

  • Khristy

    says:

My favorite holiday treat is peanut clusters! Chocolate and peanuts! How can you go wrong?

  • Ashleigh

    says:

Oh jeeze. I have two favorite Christmas treats! Both of them were introduced to me by my step mom when I was younger and I swear, if I was lost on an Island, those better be in my suitcase! Anyways, One of them is a traditional Mexican Christmas treat, the tamale. Every year I scarf them down like a mad man! Along with my second favorite treat, peanut butter balls! They’re know as buckeyes to some people but none-the-less they are so delicious, and fun to make! Creamy peanut butter wrapped in a silky layer of chocolate *drools*
Those have to be my favorite treats, but I have to mention my all time favorite holiday food, stuffing. I could live on that 😀

  • Nicole

    says:

My favorite holiday treat is spending the time to make a gingerbread house, but usually it’s display doesn’t last long because it’s so hard not to eat it right away! It’s building a creative holiday treat out of many awesome treats!!! Doesn’t get any better than that to me. ;D

  • Sassafras

    says:

i think that everything is better with dinosaurs 🙂 so my favorite holiday treat is homemade gingerbread baked by my partner and cut out with dinosaur cookie cutters 🙂

nothing says christmas to me like dinosaurs, my favorite holiday song is “Hark the Pterodactyl Sings” from an album put out by the natural history museum here in NYC.
