Free Pattern: Custard Cream Cookies

CustardCreamGroup5sm

I originally wrote this pattern to appear in Craftseller Magazine out of the UK, but apparently the magazine doesn’t exist anymore, and neither does the link to my free pattern! Thanks to a reminder from one of my readers, I’m posting it here now. The pattern is super easy, great for beginners, and you’ll have a plate full of delicious sandwich cookies in no time!

  • Break off and weave in ends with tapestry needle.

Biscuit Top:

  • Repeat Biscuit Bottom, but break off leaving about 24 inches of yarn for sewing later.
  • Then cut off about 1 yard of yarn, embroider 2 diamond shapes onto the front of the biscuit, and secure yarn ends at the back.

Cream Filing:

  • Repeat Biscuit Bottom using Cream yarn.

Final Assembly:

  • Lay Biscuit Bottom, Cream Filling, and Biscuit Top on top of each other and use the long yarn end from Biscuit Top to sew all layers together. Alternatively, you could also hot glue the layers together.

  • Tie off on Biscuit Bottom and weave in end.
  • Make several biscuits to create a cute display piece or gift set. You can also attach a pin-back or hair clip to make cute, wearable accessories for your favorite biscuit-lover!
