Messy Monday Hair

My mom came over today and took me to lunch. She kind of just appeared at my door so I quickly had to get myself together!

Today’s hair experiment was a messy low side bun with lots of hair doodads to hide the fact that I don’t have a lot of luscious long hairz. This would probably also look cute with a ton of flowers instead of bows. For my Tumblr buds, I can’t figure out why the heck this won’t post as an animated gif over there?! Frustrating!

I took a pic of the front just cuz it seemed weird to only show the back! HAhah. One of those lazy tshirt and jeans days :).

I have been finishing up a bunch of custom orders. Check out the lemon cozy that went out today!

That cozy looks good enough to eat! Lemon cake sounds so refreshing in this horrid east coast heat. p.s. LOVE the conversation hearts tee!

Your t’shirt and jeans day looks more put together than my dressing up! Not for lack of trying I might add.

Hi, I just finished crocheting the parts for the lemon cake cozy based on your book. I kept having to get smaller and smaller needles-ended up using an E and altered the pattern-I just have 2 layers. It worked out ok, but what type of yarn is the cascade 220 wool that you suggest-a real thin yarn or do I just crochet that loose? I just usually use yarn out of my stash from auctions and garage sales, so I am not at all familiar with yarns currently at the stores.
Thanks for the pattern and all your cute pictures, they help and inspire! I made my icing layer with the loop stitch also. I have not cut the loops and am thinking about not cutting-looks cute the way it is.

    • Well, you can get a sense of gauge from the gauge I mention in the book, too. Cascade 220 is worsted weight, and stitches up pretty small for me with an H hook. But we all crochet differently! It’s a pretty easy pattern to alter though, as you now know! šŸ™‚

  • 1) The lemon cozy looks DELISH!

    2) I actually like your hair like this- it looks more put together than you think! šŸ™‚

    3) Where does one find that adorable tee?!

    • It was from Betsey Johnson. I tried to keep myself from splurging on it, but in the end, I lost that battle.

I absolutely LOVE that cozie, do you think you can make a cozie for the shorter and longer tissue boxes, how much would you chain? And what size hook would you use?

    • Yes, I have made cozies for those longer boxes as well. you can use whatever yarn and hook you like. Just make a rectangle for the top. The rectangle should fit perfectly across the top of the box (plus leave a hole for the tissue). As long as this top rectangle fits well, then you just keep crocheting around the rectangle like a tube and it should fit over the box.
