Craft stash & Rainbows

I snapped a Photobooth pic of my yarn wall earlier today. My craft room is still totally not where I want it to be yet. This is a long process!! I need to buy more shelves. I have too much STUFF, but I need it and use it and can’t be rid of it!

Also, I painted my nails rainbow today. I rarely take the time to paint them as evidenced by what my friend Kera calls my “crack ho nails,” always chipped and in a horrible state. I feel like when you work with your hands, it’s hard to sit down and take a moment to wait there for your nails to dry. Anyway, a few ladies were talking about rainbow nails on Twitter, so I had to give it a try!!

I was bummed that my beloved Orly “Blue Collar” blue nail polish seems to be different now. The formula seems thinner, and the color is much darker :(. The yellow “Spark” is AWFUL. SO uneven even after three coats. The pink is still uneven, too. Time to find a new favorite blue nail polish.

I definatly need a yarn wall… next to the fabric wall and the bead wall. ^^
    It is so beautiful!

    • I have a TON of beads and buttons and cabochons in hiding!! Thank goodness I don’t have a fabric addiction, too. My house would completely explode!! 😉

  • I’m *jealous* of that yarn wall! 🙂
I feel exactly the same every time I try to do my nails (which I love to do, by the way). It takes forever to dry up and it feels like I’m wasting time away from crochet. Crazy!

    • We need to get little nail-drying fans! Plus my nails grow out really quickly, too, so the area near my cuticles gets messed up in just a few days!

Try barry m nail paint in blueberry ice cream. You can buy it from barrym.com for about £2.99. (sorry, I don’t know what that is in dollars!) P.S. You and your work are soooo freakin amazing!!!!

    • My friend did a review on the nailpolish and said it was good! Thanks for the reminder!!

All I can say is OH MY GOD GORGEOUS! I’m Super jealous!
I tryed painting my nails a week or two ago. It didn’t go well.
My mom and me have these nifty nail polish pens that are alot easier just only if you get the right brand. Sally Hansen is a nice one. We tryed another and it was horrible. They’re great for people like me who couldn’t paint their nails to save their life and have to go back with a q tip and np remover. XD

And on more important news. I JUST GOT YOUR BOOK IN THE MAIL! O….O OMG It’s super AWESOME! There’s soooooo much. I wasn’t expecting so many patterns.
The cute cookie scarf and gingerbread man on the cover may be my first projects but OMG The cupcake hat and popsicle scarf!
The grapefruit one is so cute. Even if I don’t like the taste of them. XD O…o The radish = <3 Soooo cute The pear scarf the toast they're all so incredible and creative I was expecting everything to be in here. XD I can imagine making so many things with all these not just scarfs. Plus the glove pattern.
(PS I've always love your tattoos and how bright and colorful they are. And now I can look at them all the time. XD Who did them? They're all wonderful, the color's are gorgeous.)

I'm really excited to try all the patterns. Yay for early shipments. XD

    • I’m happy you’re excited about the book!!!! I hope that you are able to follow the patterns! I’m always worried about that since I am not really used to writing patterns for other people 😛

i love your nails! i also once had nails like yours! i went to the mall with my friends and there were those samples from nail varnish… so we tried every color on every finger! and in the end our fingers were like a rainbow! it was so much fun!

i hope you have a beautiful weekend!! ♥

    btw: i love your hair!

    • We kinda do that, too, at the mall! but then usually i’m already wearing chipped polish and i don’t want to make a huge ugly mess!

    hearts and rainbows!

    • I am trying to post more soon, but then I get so caught up in other projects, like prepping for my book tour! Eep! I’m gonna try really hard! 🙂 🙂

Yeah I used to have my yarn in giant bags, too! Hehee, but at least the CD shelves from IKEA are not too expensive 🙂

I want to set up camp next to your rainbow wall!

    • IT’s pretty cheery, I admit!

  • The first words out of my mouth was “Holy crap”. Thats a buttload of yarn!

    • I know!! It’s like this awful weight I have to carry around!

Oooooo, i’m in LOVE with the yarn wall!!!! I’ve WAY outgrown my studio cause i hop from project to project. I’m with you on the crack ho nails…mine always look HORRIBLE

    • I have soo much random stuff, but I’m alaways worried if I get rid of something, I’ll need it like 2 years from now. I dunno!

  • OH MY GOSH! Your craft room is so darn cute! It put the biggest smile on my face! It look so colourful and organised. Mine is a mess!

    • Oh gosh, mine was a huge mess just like 3 days ago… heheh :P. It still needs some work. The closet is a big giant pile of stuff!

  • Chandra

    says:

Adorable everything 🙂 totally love the room. Where did you get those fantastic shelves?? They seem just perfect for yarn!

  • Kt

    says:

My studio is starting to look like yours! I have the little cubby holes, but they don’t go as high…yet. Gotta buy some more! Although I don’t fill mine with yarn, it is mostly art supplies!! <3

    Hey Twinkie!

Get you some Seche Vite and you won’t have to wait long at all for your nails to dry! Maybe 1 min or 2…really! You can get it at drugstores/pharmacies(I don’t know what you have in your area but we have CVS here and they carry it). Seriously, you will love this stuff. And, if you don’t you can blame it all on me 😉 (but I hope you do)

Thank you for making me happy after hours of studying. Just reading your blog and seeing your smile-face makes me perk right up again!

    hey,
    I love your yarn wall….
    your space is so colorful…:)
I am still looking for the right shelves for my fabrics, have not found the right ones yet.
and I love your scarfs and everything else

    xxx

    • Thank you so much! 🙂 Have you checked IKEA out yet? They have a lot of different storage options!

  • i think you would like opi no room for the blues!

  • oh also…i REALLY need to second that comment on the seche vite…its about 9 dollars a bottle, but if you use an ulta coupon you can knock off a lot of the price (or order from head2toebeauty.com if you need other stuff, their prices are KILLER.) your nails are seriously hard dry in two minutes. it’s the only top coat i’ll use now. it will also prevent a lot of the crack ho-ness you suffer from 😛 if you’re going to order online, do yourself a favor and order a bottle of seche restore. after a lot of use, seche vite starts to thicken up and restore is the only thinner you can use on it!

Rainbow nailpolish!!! Use Instadry by Sally Hansen, dries super quick and you can find it at walmart! yay!

    • I bought some in blue and green last week! 🙂

  • MBC

    says:

okay…jealous me over here looking at the yarn cubbies.. where do you find the shelves??? I have looked all over to find the perfect “something” to put mine in :[

    • Mine are from IKEA. They are CD shelves. They are not perfect. THe shelves are really flimsy and sometimes my yarn flies off, but they do the job!
