Love for Cinema

Last night Hairy and I went to see Youth in Revolt, the latest movie with Michael Cera. It’s based on a book by CD Payne that I’d started to read like 7 or 8 years ago but never finished. I remember thinking the voice was HYSTERICAL, but working in publishing means you never have time to read :). I passed it along to Hairy once I found out they were turning it into a movie, so at least one of us has read the whole thing!

There are some funny one-liners in the movie. You should see it if you’re up for a movie with snappy dialogue, but no explosions or love ballads by Celine Dion.

Hairy had asked me to hold his hot dog for a sec, and then I realized I was holding a hot dog and a popcorn and I felt like a big piggie, so of course, I demanded a photo!

Then I gave Hairy his hot dog back and made him pose with his hot dog, Sweet Tarts, AND the chocolate bar he brought in! HAHA.

I used to NEVER buy food at the movies, until I met Hairy. Now we’re just gross and disgusting. Also he turned 35 today. Hee hee heeeeee. I’ll show you what I got him and Manda for their bdays tomorrow!

    Aww, Happy Birthday to Hairy!

The movies is like the best excuse to eat gross food! Like popcorn, which is always a good idea until you’re halfway through the box and realise you’ve just eaten about a pound of salt! I’m a huge cheapskate so I usually buy food at the supermarket and sneak it in, heh. Classy! But I can never resist the lure of the giant sodas :9

    • I’m a sucker of the kettle corn if it is available! We also usually get hot dogs….so those would be kinda gross to sneak in yer purse. Someone used to make me sneak in their hamburgers and I was not too pleased…HAHAH πŸ˜›

My Mom had a big orange plastic coated woven purse. circa 1964. We went to the movies and ate coney islands that she had smuggled in with that bag. Shasta sodas wrapped in foil…shiney side in, to help keep the cold in. Now I buy popcorn,a giant soda, and a box of Dots or junior mints.
Me and the Hubs will watch Youth in Revolt.

    Happy Birthday to Hairy!

I love getting at least an Icee when we go to the movies. My Grandma was a rebel and would pack up meals and stash them in her giant movie bag for us to enjoy later. But we always bought popcorn! But that was back in the day of our local theatre having double features and actually being in use!

  • ack! I’m so jeclous my husband NEVER lets us get food while at the movies, but that may be have something to do with the fact that I ALWAYS make us run late.
